I have both my EQUITY and AFTRA union cards and have performed in many musicals and commercials. My specialty has been voice overs. The best part of voice overs is that I can be anybody. I have often been a teenager, long past my teen age years. I am married to Bob Johnson and we have one son, Sean, that many of the congregation have watched grow up. Now he is a senior at ASU. I am one of ten children that loved to sing. My sisters and I would often be found in one of the bedrooms singing Jewish melodies and competing for the best harmony. And the greatest pleasure of my parents would be to have us all sing songs in the kitchen. Even when the song "Happy Birthday" is sung, it seems we all compete for the harmony. So much so, that the melody line is the understood missing notes. I am very flattered that the Steering Committee asked me to be the cantorial soloist for Beth Ami Temple. I have always found great peace singing prayers during services and feeling the connection between me and G-d. I hope that when I sing during services that people feel that same connection. As the soloist I hope not to sing for the congregation but with the congregation.
