Meet our new High Holy Day Accompanist
Linda Prideaux has been a pianist/accompanist and teacher/vocal director for over 40 years. Making her debut with her elementary school choir, her passion for accompanying and choirs led her to a career in music education. Linda was the Vocal Director at Chaparral High School in Scottsdale for 18 years, building a program from a small chorus to a department with six performing groups. Prior to moving to Arizona, Linda directed a highly praised choral program in Brea, California, for eight years. Serving as vocal director for over 30 musicals, she has performed in numerous others as the pianist.
Linda holds her Bachelor’s degree in Music from Occidental College in Los Angeles, completed her teaching credential at California State University, Fullerton, and earned a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.
Retired from full-time teaching in 2012, Linda continues working as a free-lance accompanist and vocal music director. For seven years, she was the regular accompanist for Coronado High School, and currently serves as pianist for Scottsdale Congregational United Church of Christ. She and her husband Ray Steiner reside in Scottsdale and spend free time hiking and traveling.
Linda is working together with Rabbi Lawton, Cantorial Soloist Michael Robbins to prepare for very meaningful Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services.
Thank you, Linda!
